Day 212… Lots of flying today to get to Bangkok, then my adventure begins. I emerge from my hotel in Seoul to a withering 6° celsius autumn morning. Then i fly. After i land at 5pm, get thru security (surprisingly quick too i might add) i head out into the blistering 30° celsius spring evening. I grab a train to the end of the line, which is cheap… easy to use… pretty safe and gets me closer to a hotel. Then i use a security service to get me a proper metered taxi to go to hotel. After arriving at the wrong hotel (my bad, intrepid Web site has wrong hotel listed), thankfully my itinerary has the right one, and i get there. Lovely place, being upgraded too. So I check in grab an amazing Thai dinner and book a tour for the morrow. Then i crash… its been a loooong day.
Day 213… My tour itself, as always, begins with a welcome meeting at 6pm on Day 1. But before I do that, it’s off to take a riverboat to the floating markets and explore the crowded streets. Then my boat guy drops me at the magnificent Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to get lost in for an hour or so. Amazing place. Then i jump a tuk tuk (these guys will rip u off everytime… offer them half what they ask and walk away) to see the colossal, impressive, incredible giant golden reclining Buddha at Wat Pho temple… just jaw droppingly beautiful there. After that i flag a metered taxi (never flag one that specifically is signed as metered… they ain’t and will rip u off, I never used em) back to my under construction hotel for a spiffy lunch and the meeting this evening.
