Day 202… Today is cold and overcast and a miserable day. But morning sees me up with a travel pal to do the red line shrine walk on our map which was great. Full of tiny waterfalls, gorgeous scenery, bridges, shrines and temples… as well as a famous row of 99 Buddha’s. Lunch is chosen for us at a random restaurant by a random old parking attendant, which turned out to actually have brilliant food. Then we spotted a Christian church to look inside as well as an old samurai house that was turned into japan’s first ever tourist hotel in 1861… only moved to better premises and the original opened to the public in March his year! Then i went to do the big shrine and temple from yesterday (he scaffold ed one and the crying dragon one) before hitting a japanese garden and museum. As the weather began to turn even colder and more sour, i head out for a little afternoon tea before returning to scan some stuff, blog, and have a great dinner.
