Day 195… Okaley doakaley… another big day out as I take he train to soak in Akihabara… Japan’s pop-culture central! Here I wander and out and get utterly lost when and out friendly Japanese lady helps me out, I finally trek the OTHER WAY and familiarise myself with the gachapon museum. This little shop is crammed to the rafters with those coin machines that dispense tiny toys, etc. Japan totally loves the hell out of these things, they are everywhere and this is he biggest shop. After i plunge a bunch of change into them, I head to an anime statue shop to get gifts for the folks back home… well and me too, of course! Then its lunch at the extremely overpriced maid cafe. Here they greet you animus animus lost master and are your servant. There animus re heaps here, ninja ones, geisha, cheerleader, etc. There is NOTHING untoward here… they just serve you food made to look like teddy bears or whatnot, sing an aimed dance, make you pose for a very japanese photo and charge the earh. Oh well… part of the experience. Next its off to the Mandarake comic n toy store which is 7 floors of pop culture nerdvana. Then its back on the trains (waaay easy to navigate… in fact most things are here… take note rest of the world) to get to Divercity tomsee its huge life size Gundam statue and cafe (for those who don’t know… its adrenalin huge 10 storey high robot statue that, in the cartoons, you climb inside and drive/fly). After its back and my American buddy didn’t make his flight… so dinner is with him again, sushi tonight.
