Day 156… The 1st thing i have to do today is introduce our awesome young American travel bud Matt to Vegimite… but PROPERLY… none of this stupid eat a teaspoon nonesense. Bread… butter… smear of the mite. Job donne he quite enjoyed it, describing it as a smokey beefy flavour. Then he tries it the wrong way and agreed itmwas awful. He inherits my jar to take home, which brings me to job #2… ensure Matt gets to train safely as there are unsavouries about. Finally its back to join other tour buds, including a newcomer Carolyn to head off to Murano island to check out some Murano glass. 2nd stop we get a €2 entry to a glassmaking shop to watch a demo by a master glassblowers (& he did the whole glass horse in 90 seconds thing live!) then into the store where I FIND EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR in stunningly gorgeous gold leaf painted goblets. Grab the card and some photos to order, later… job done! Then lunch and ice cream and half our little group headed to a different isle to see some lace… Ian, Keryn and I go shopping and take the time to wander the narrow, cobblestone streets and spacious piazzas and cross the hundreds of tiny bridges, where shops, markets, galleries, churches and stunning buildings lie around every corner. At night its newbie welcome escape dinner time… and Spag Bol #1.
