Days 162, 163, 164 Rome
Day 162… With crowded streets festoonned with ancient ruins and religious monuments, Rome still pulses to the beat of modern life and is packed to the gills with things to see and do. First things going well do is the old orientation walk. .. which went on for far too long according to those who did it all… thankfully I was cut short when I found out where to get my tickets to the Collesium and we headed off. Took a while to find the ticket redemltion place… then i had to print my ticket receipt out at a net cafe… then go back for the ticket via a souvenir shopping to buy a €3 rain poncho as the heavens opened up, but I finally get there. I am SOOO happy to be here in the actual Roman Collesium. .. over 2100 years of history around me and under my feet… plus last time I was here it was closed for renovations. The rains gave me a chance to brave the weather for great pics with other tourists in them… then it warmed up for some nice sunny shots too! After that I followed Jeremy, Michelle and Richard out to the world ruins of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill which is included in my ticket, before heading back for our final dinner… spag bol #5.
