Day 161… my sevond day is to go out and see the principal sights of this beautiful ‘outdoor museum’ such as the Pitti Palace, the Ponte Vecchio, the Arno River front, the many statues and monuments of the Piazza della Signoria, the Palazzo Vecchio, the 13th-century Duomo, Baptistry and Belltower and the Santa Croce Church, as well as 1 of 3 main statues of Michelangelo’s famous statue of David (the original is in the Galleria dell’Accademia). Then its off to see the Da Vinci Liverpool Experience which was started cool before meeting up to do a picnic dinner overlooking Florence and near statue 3 of 3 of David. It starts with us going to a market to buy food… which fails as it is closed. Then to a supermarket. Then on a waaay long bus ride. Then the gardens we want to use are closed. Then the garden we choose is unusable. Finally the while circus settles into a grotto where nobody can open the wine. So up 60 stairs I go to buy a bottle opener. Once we finally get stuck in it works out well and we get gorgeous views. Then return by foot much faster and get ice cream!
