Day 125… Early start on a drizzly day as I jump aboard my coach tour OUT of Dublin to go see the Giants Causeway! The tour itself actually takes us to 3 and a bit things. .. first is a bit little mini stop to get a photo of the ruins of Castle Dunluce on the edge of a cliff where part of it just fell off opening night centuries ago (a while later we saw the waaay more ruined left overs of Castle Dunseverick… honestly there ain’t much left of that one… seen more structural integrity in a poorly constructed duplo tower). Then the real gear begins with a few hours at the Belfast Titanic Museum (with Robots mini expo) which was just tops. The making etc of the great liner was well put together with good use of technology and interactives, the sinking was a very sombre tasteful animation with eerie recordings from the survivors playing in the dark) and the creepy underwater footage of the wreck itself. The robots expo was a nice surprise… just displays of famous robots from tv and movies. Cool. Then we go to the Giants Causeway which is just surreal… its Irelands answer to Stonehenge. .. weird and inexplicable hexagonal stones seemingly natural by the sea. Really quite the sight. Afterwards we bus to the final destination… Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge… spanning the gap between a tiny rock islandlette and the mainland.
