Day 103… London day 1 – OK – so up I get from my hostel of doom & grab the Tube into London. Fist stop is Baker Street… yes THAT baker street… from the song as well as Sherlock Holmes fame. My 1st touristy thing is to visit the Sherlock Museum at 221b Baker St (well… actually 221 Baker St is an abandoned office for lease… the Museum is at 237 Baker St, right next door to the Official Beatles Shop… and sadly even tho I did sneak out to Abbey Road I couldnt get a photo of me onit as its a ROAD… full of traffic &… well… I was alone… hard to take a shot from 10 m away solo. But i DID get a photo of the road crossing itself. But I digress…). Sherlock was cool… a 4 story narrow london victorian house full of memorabilia & waxwork dummies. Next up I grab a ticket to board the London Big Bus (did those tours in Miami & NY… good tours) &… um… board the big bus. Checking out the sights of London, I hop off at the Film Museum to see 007 – Bond in Action… every bond vehicle, heaps of props, scripts, concept art… its a top expo! After that I re-board the bus & continue to the Tower of London & Tower Bridge (the one everyone THINKS is london bridge but aint). I get to see the bridge raise up (only happens rarely these days) & wander into the Tower. Theres quite a bit to see here including the Crown Jewels, a dragon made of ye olde weaponry, coins &… I had to do it… steal a key-ring sized crown jewel out of the Tower of London! Mission Impossible eat your heart out! LOL. Then I change transport & do a quick Thames Cruise before I jump back on my big red bus & go to the London Eye – despite the touristy nature of it – it is an extremely impressive feat of modern engineering & HUUUGE! That was cool… & I get back on the Big Bus for the night tour before I get to my FINAL destination for the day… at 10.30pm… is the Ripleys Museum in London – the biggest in the world & home of the whole shebang. It was great – I really love these things. Finally at midnight & get back in the train & return to sleep at hostel de’shite.
