Day 73 Monument Valley
After a ride through fascinating desert regions, we reach Monument Valley. The backdrop for countless westerns, Monument Valley is part of the biggest Indian reservation in the US and home to more than 200,000 Indians of the Navajo Tribe. My tour mate Paul and I book a tour from the back of a bus-ute-thing and check out the Monument Valley sandstone formations scattered across the desert. The angle of the sun means that the landscape is constantly changing colour and it’s near impossible to take a bad photo. It is amaze-balls stuff! Even with the sudden and unexpected hail storm it did cool the air and gave us an awesome rainbow. I also mount up for an exquisite shot on horseback across the valley.
Afterwards I leave the group for awesome short time to catch up with my Facebook/ Farmville mate Christina mate and her dad… driven 6 hrs from Salt Lake City to say gday! Cool.
